Barolo Riserva Marchesi di Barolo 2015. Alcohol content 14% vol. Entirely made from Nebbiolo grapes. This noble wine ages for at least 2 years in traditional large oak barrels and for another 2 years in bottle, so it cannot be marketed before 6 years after harvest. Wine with a fascinating, deep, garnet red colour with bright orange hints. Intense and complex scent with floral hints of violet and rose; spicy cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper; ripe black fruit; tobacco, licorice, leather and balsamic hints. In the mouth it is dry and austere, but also elegant and velvety. The tannins are abundant, but streamlined, good alcohol and freshness complete the taste, along with a long fruity after-aroma. This is certainly a wine with a long life ahead of it. It goes well with typical tajarins with game ragout, braised red meats and hard aged cheese.
